You are going the right way

Have you ever wondered if you are going the right way? If the path you have chosen is really taking you to your destination? A few days ago, I was watching the Instagram Story of an American actress. She and her husband were just on a hike, looking for the trail that was shown on their map. When she said she didn’t know if they were going the right way, he replied, „We’re just following Jesus, of course we’re going the right way.“ You know, this statement really is true. If you follow Jesus, you are going the right way.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14,6

You do not follow just anyone, but you follow THE way, THE truth and THE life. Jesus is the way that never leads you astray. Jesus is the truth that always sets you free. Jesus is the life that gives you fulfillment, future and hope. You can rely on Jesus because he loves you and only has your best interest in mind. Even when you are in the middle of a challenge or facing huge problems, just follow Jesus.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23,4

There may be dark valleys in your life, but you will not stay there. Jesus is with you, he takes you by the hand and leads you through. He leads you to freedom, to green pastures and still waters (Psalm 23,2). Fix your eyes on Jesus and focus on what he has done for you on the cross. He bore every sin, sickness, infirmity and pain for you. What He bore, you no longer have to bear. He was forsaken so that you would never be alone again. Follow Jesus by hearing his word and fixing your eyes on him. Let him fight the battles for you. You do not have to know what the solution is, how to overcome the difficulty, or how your dreams will come true. That is God’s business. When worries and fears come up, just say: „Jesus, I can not do it, but you can. I do not know how this situation can change, but my eyes are on you, it is your battle. Thank you for not leaving me. Thank you for having everything under control.“

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Psalm 32,8

Often we do not know what’s next or which direction to go. But Jesus knows. You may not always understand everything but know that following Jesus will always lead you to your destination. Following him means trusting him. To trust that he knows more than you, to trust that he sees further than you, to trust that he loves you and has only your best interest at heart.

When God made a promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself, saying, “I will surely bless you and multiply you.” Hebrews 6,13-14

When you follow Jesus, you follow the One who has committed Himself to bless you. Favor and grace follow you all the days of your life simply because Jesus loves you. He has done everything so that you can live a blessed life today. It has nothing to do with what you do or don’t do, but it depends solely on what Jesus did for you on the cross. Follow Jesus and let His grace fill your life. Follow Jesus who deeply loves you and lavishes His blessings on you. Follow Jesus and you are going the right way!

Du bist auf dem richtigen Weg

Hast du dich jemals gefragt, ob du auf dem richtigen Weg bist? Ob der Pfad, den du gewählt hast, dich wirklich ans Ziel führt? Vor einigen Tagen habe ich die Instagram Story einer amerikanischen Schauspielerin angeschaut. Sie und ihr Mann waren gerade auf einer Wanderung und suchten den Pfad, der auf ihrem Plan angegeben war. Als sie sagte, sie wisse nicht ob sie auf dem richtigen Weg seien, antwortete er: „Wir folgen einfach Jesus, natürlich sind wir auf dem richtigen Weg.“ Weisst du, diese Aussage ist wirklich wahr. Wenn du Jesus folgst, bist du auf dem richtigen Weg.

Jesus spricht zu ihm: Ich bin der Weg und die Wahrheit und das Leben; niemand kommt zum Vater denn durch mich. Johannes 14,6

Du folgst nicht irgendjemandem, sondern du folgst DEM Weg, DER Wahrheit und DEM Leben. Jesus ist der Weg, der dich nie in die Irre führt. Jesus ist die Wahrheit, die dich immer freisetzt. Jesus ist das Leben, dass dir Erfüllung, Zukunft und Hoffnung gibt. Auf Jesus kannst du dich verlassen, weil er dich liebt und nur dein Bestes im Sinn hat. Selbst dann, wenn du dich gerade mitten in einer Herausforderung befindest oder mit riesigen Problemen konfrontiert bist, folge einfach Jesus.

Und ob ich schon wanderte im finstern Tal, fürchte ich kein Unglück; denn du bist bei mir, dein Stecken und Stab trösten mich. Psalm 23,4

Es mag dunkle Täler in deinem Leben geben, aber du wirst nicht dort bleiben. Jesus ist mit dir, er nimmt dich bei der Hand und führt dich hindurch. Er führt dich in die Freiheit, zu grünen Auen und frischem Wasser (Psalm 23,2). Richte deinen Blick auf Jesus und konzentriere dich darauf, was er am Kreuz für dich getan hat. Er hat jede Sünde, jede Krankheit, jedes Gebrechen und jeden Schmerz für dich getragen. Was er getragen hat, musst du nicht mehr tragen. Er wurde verlassen, damit du nie mehr allein bist. Folge Jesus, indem du sein Wort hörst und deinen Blick auf ihn richtest. Lass ihn die Kämpfe für dich kämpfen. Du musst nicht wissen, wie die Lösung aussieht, wie du aus der Schwierigkeit herauskommst oder wie sich deine Träume erfüllen. Das ist Gottes Sache. Wenn Sorgen und Ängste hochkommen, sage einfach: „Jesus, ich kann es nicht, aber du kannst es. Ich weiss nicht, wie sich diese Situation verändern kann, aber meine Augen sind auf dich gerichtet, es ist dein Kampf. Danke, dass du mich nicht verlässt. Danke, dass du alles im Griff hast.“

Ich will dich unterweisen und dir den Weg zeigen, / den du gehen sollst; ich will dich mit meinen Augen leiten. Psalm 32,8

Oftmals wissen wir nicht, was als nächstes dran ist oder in welche Richtung wir gehen sollen. Aber Jesus weiss es. Du verstehst vielleicht nicht immer alles, aber sei dir bewusst, dass Jesus zu folgen, dich immer ans Ziel führt. Ihm zu folgen bedeutet, ihm zu vertrauen. Zu vertrauen, dass er mehr weiss als du, zu vertrauen, dass er weiter sieht als du, zu vertrauen, dass er dich liebt und nur dein Bestes will.

Denn als Gott dem Abraham die Verheissung gab, schwor er, da er bei keinem Grösseren schwören konnte, bei sich selbst und sprach: »Wahrlich, ich will dich reichlich segnen und mächtig mehren!« Hebräer 6,13-14

Wenn du Jesus folgst, folgst du demjenigen, der sich dazu verpflichtet hat, dich zu segnen. Gunst und Gnade folgen dir dein Leben lang, einfach deshalb, weil Jesus dich liebt. Er hat alles dafür getan, damit du heute ein gesegnetes Leben führen kannst. Es hat nichts damit zu tun, was du tust oder nicht tust, sondern es hängt allein davon ab, was Jesus am Kreuz für dich getan hat. Folge Jesus und lass seine Gnade dein Leben erfüllen. Folge Jesus, der dich unendlich liebt und dich mit seinem Segen überschüttet. Folge Jesus und du bist auf dem richtigen Weg!
